But all that is unavoidable to the gastro-tourist. The gastro-tourist travels for food – both for top-notch gourmet food and simple and unadulterated local food. And you get it all in Ibiza. Here we have gathered some of our recommendations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For meat lovers \u2013 Mikala<\/strong><\/p>\n

The restaurant is super cozy, super beautiful, very Ibizan, great place to spend the evening. The food is great, Argentine food at its best. It also has an Argentinian grill outside for \u201casados\u201d – charcoal roasted meat. You can also enjoy their rich and colorful cocktails and do not forget their delicious desserts. Relaxed atmosphere and perfect for after work hours.<\/p>\n

The organic – La Paloma<\/span><\/b>
\nA fine old white finca (traditional country house) in the middle of the small patch of San Lorenzo lies the charming La Paloma, which is two in one. By day an organic, healthy caf\u00e9 with freshly squeezed juices, couscous salads and the famous mixed salad with today’s harvest from the garden and in the evening a cozy Italian eatery still focusing on the organic. Both the food and the decor are a little ‘modern hippie’. Delicious, fresh vegetables, good Italian and Spanish ingredients.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The local flavor\u00a0 – Es Pins<\/strong><\/p>\n

Locals come here in the morning to get coffee, while the smell of simmering meat in large iron pots spreads from the kitchen at Es Pins. The restaurant itself looks like an overgrown conservatory from a detached house from the 70\u2019s. Here you come to get food, as our mother nature made it. Get the special Ibiza bread that Katy has baked for 25 years.<\/p>\n

She crumbles some of the big giant bread into smaller pieces, pours in some olive oil and gives another turn in the oven. The result is a kind of giant croutons. It is the basis of the island’s traditional salad de crustes – a bread salad. The bread croutons are soaked in more olive oil and mixed with tomatoes, garlic and salt and pepper. Simple yet tasty – salty, crispy, sweet with tomatoes and crisps.<\/p>\n

Beach bar \u2013 El Chiringuito<\/span><\/b>
\nIt’s hard not get a drink at the beach. With lounge music in the ears and a sunset in front of you. There are several really good chefs and menu cards at the chic beach bars. The South American restaurant and bar El Chiringuito is located directly next to Agua Blanca Beach. If you rent one of the wide loungers, you can lie on the beach and eat a steak sandwich with chimichurri sauce. The bar’s caipirinha is worth a try. Here is party mood without the extreme St. Tropez’s glitz found at Blue Marlin, the ultimate lounge atmosphere and you will feel like stepping into a commercial for Mo\u00ebt & Chandon. And that says it all, the restaurant on its website advertises being available by car and yacht.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The modern caf\u00e9 \u2013 The Giri Caf\u00e9<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Giri Caf\u00e9 has in many ways surprised the island’s residents and guests. Not many people expect to find a good eatery in the sleepy village of San Juan, which only wakes up on Sundays when there is a market. Facing the small cobbled street, the place looks like a small bar and caf\u00e9 where locals can drink their coffee. But behind the first cavernous rooms with bar, a large bright and cool eatery unfolds with both seating inside and out in the patio. Here you can eat shrimp, raw tuna, creamy cod croquettes and other small dishes as a kind of modern tapas or put together a good 3-course menu.<\/p>\n
